The Movie Club for Music Lovers

Lore : Some time ago ( ~2018 ), I didn’t have too many folk in my life I could talk to music about. This drove me insane and my outlet before was to put songs on my IG story. One day I decided to make a curated music group-chat with the few I knew who’d like the idea. It was called the SoulColl ( short for Soulective Collective as sharing music imo was like sharing bits and pieces of your soul ) and it went on for about 88 weeks.

One day in 2021, a friend who used to be in there introduced me to a new friendly competition app centered around music submissions under curated themes called Music League that reminded her of the chat. I decided to start one centered around creating unofficial movie soundtracks. This was started in aim to watch more movies but also as a music lover who loves a good soundtrack to try and see what others would add from how they perceived the movie and selected from their music journey so far as well as my own.

I decided to design covers for the playlists made as graphic design practice and as a way to make things fun. Here’s what i’ve worked on so far, links to each playlist will be attached. Enjoy!
