PhotoLounge (Freelance)
Off Topic (Gallery Show)
This summer, Philly photo lab PhotoLounge tapped me once more with a design project requiring a visual identity not focused around the content but the idea of the gallery show in mind. The gallery brought together almost 50 previous Philadelphia Inquirer photographers and focused not on the work they did for the newspaper, but the photo’s they took behind the scenes on their assignments. A glorious gallery idea that was well complimented with the title of Off Topic. As a fan of both the concept and the title accompanying it, I wanted to create something that did the idea a justice and in the end came out with a result that both paid homage to the roots of newspaper with it’s ink bleeds and print looks while incorporating contemporary design looks to give a new look to a dying form of spreading the news.

For context, 400 N. Broad is the location of the original Inquirer HQ on South Broad. The line connecting Off and Topic represents Broad Street. The circle is to signify location but also how the news is the center of a lot of things. The lines stemming from symbolize how news and information are spread outwards into the world to inform the people around in all locations.

This one was more of a teaser as compared to the portrait version that showed the full graphic.
